Dezeen Showroom: rounded shapes informed by dew drops characterise the Antao basin, which was created by design studio KaschKasch for German brand Villeroy and Boch.
Forming part of the brand’s wider Antao collection, the basin comes in two sizes of surface-mounted designs that can be fixed to vanity units or shelves and combined with Antao taps.
“Antao’s design concept is based on the organic and asymmetrical shape of a dew drop,” said Villeroy and Boch.
“This design concept is particularly apparent in the asymmetric surface-mounted washbasins in a matt look,” the brand continued. “The washbasin blends perfectly with the vanity unit and tap fitting to form a harmonious union.”
Antao basins are made from Villeroy and Boch’s TitanCeram material, a type of ceramic designed to have improved strength that can be used for thin and delicate shapes.
The sink collection is available in a range of calming colours, including white, black, brown and muted green.
