Seven iconic furnishings rereleased for the modern market

Dezeen Showroom: from a 1940s lounge chair to a miniaturised 1970s lamp made from glass, the following pieces are among reissued designs listed on Dezeen Showroom.

Contemporary releases of classic furnishings are made for a number of reasons, from the sustained consumer demand for 20th-century style furniture and the desire to remake pieces according to contemporary standards of environmentally-conscious materiality and sustainable production methods.

The following selection includes modern-day relaunches of French designer Pierre Paulin’s 1971 Pumpkin chair by Ligne Roset, Eero Aarnio Originals’ Parabel table from 1993 and Italian architect and sculptor Angelo Mangiarotti 1978 Lari mini lamp by Karakter.

Read on to find out about relaunched design classics listed on the platform from a range of global manufacturers, brands and designers.
