Web3 Gaming Platform Unioverse Launches Second Flagship Game, Hoverdrome And New Hero NFT

Blockchain gaming ecosystem Unioverse launches a new gaming title Hoverdrome, a new NFT, and a celebratory tournament with over 15,000 $USDC and 300,000 $UNIO in prizes to be won.

Unioverse, a blockchain-based sci-fi franchise and game creation platform, announced the pre-alpha launch of Hoverdrome, a racing and combat game, alongside a host of developments and upgrades to its platform. In addition, the platform will also welcome its most-coveted NFT to date, Tor Gret, its third hero NFT following the launch of Krishah and Reyu.

To commemorate the launch of Hoverdrome, Unioverse also unveiled a tournament, in partnership with Polygon, with a 15,000 $USDC and 300,000 $UNIO prize pool. More rewards are available for participants.

Unioverse Unveils Its Second Flagship Game, Hoverdome

Hoverdrome is a blockchain-based AAA-rated racing and combat gaming experience that blends elements of Mario Kart and Rocket League. The game is now available in pre-alpha on Windows PC, offering gamers an opportunity to compete and earn prizes through their adventures.

“Hoverdrome is an exhilarating addition to the Unioverse, combining the best elements of racing and competitive action,” said Tony Harman, Founder and CEO of Random Games, the company behind the Unioverse. “We are thrilled to share this pre-alpha version with our community and look forward to their feedback.”

The multiplayer game aims to offer players an exciting multiverse, allowing players to earn rare achievements for their heroes and hoverbikes and enjoy the freedom to build their own levels and bikes. The game also leverages interoperable NFTs that enable players to use their assets across multiple games within the Unioverse.

Unioverse Launches Tournament Offering Up To 15,000 $USDC

To celebrate Hoverdrome’s launch, Unioverse announced the launch of a tournament, in collaboration with Polygon, offering 15000 $USDC, 300,000 $UNIO, and more prizes to lucky participants. The free-to-enter tournament requires participants to verify their Windows PC and download the game for a chance to share the prize pool.

According to Wyeth Ridgway, Founder and CTO of Random Games, the tournament aims to “deliver value to the Unioverse community” as well as expand its user base. The event will run from August 26 to August 31, 2024, for Open Qualifiers, with live finals set for August 31. Live commentary during the finals will be provided by Tanner_Metro and Orbital_Casting, two highly talented casters in collaboration with Community Gaming.

Moreover, the launch coincides with the release of Unioverse’s third hero, Tor Gret, a formidable space sheriff and “the most treasured NFT in the Unioverse to date”, as the team statement describes it. Tor Gret becomes the third NFT after previous releases of Krishah and Reyu NFTs. Only 5,000 pieces of Tor Gret were minted, in partnership with Margic Eden on Aug 6, granting immediate access to games, unique ecosystem benefits, and early access to significant events – particularly for holders of ‘Epic’ or ‘Legendary’ Heroes.

“Tor Gret is a game-changer in the Unioverse, not just as a character but what he brings to our community,” added Harman. “The minting event was a major step forward for us, and we are excited to see how our players will use and appreciate this unique hero.”

Supporting Harman, Ridgway believes the launch of Tor Gret enhances the overall gaming experience on Unioverse – “creating meaningful and valuable experiences for players”.

“The Tor Gret minting event also exemplifies this by offering substantial benefits and early access opportunities that enhance the Unioverse experience,” Ridgway added.

The launch of Hoverdrome and Tor Gret shows the potential of Unioverse gaming, providing a futuristic look at the expansion of the ecosystem and community engagement in the ever-growing world of Web 3 gaming. The pre-alpha version of the game is available for download on the Unioverse website.
